Something to Hold on to

Something to Hold on to

It began with a dream that felt almost too big for everyday life.

My hubby and I hatched a 10-year plan to reach our version of freedom.  But ten years is a long time to keep a dream alive when real life keeps demanding your attention.  I was dipping my toes into jewelry making and needed something to keep me focused on where I was going.  Something to hold on to during the tough times.

So, I made myself a bracelet.

Bracelet

It was a symbol that represented the future I wanted to have. In the midst of stressful days and setbacks, I would feel the weight of my talisman and let it lift me up.

I called it my Journey Bracelet.  A simple Moonstone & Labradorite piece with a tiny silver charm stamped with numbers. Not just any numbers… but the exact date I planned to leave my corporate job and step into the next chapter of my life.

I put it on every morning without fail.  On stressful days, I gently touched it.  In times of doubt (there were a lot of these), I held it.  Every day it reminded me where I was headed.

It became my quiet spark of joy.  A small daily nudge that kept my dream alive

I wore that bracelet every single day for over 2 years.  And then, on the exact date I had inscribed, I quit.

That leap of faith changed everything.

Today, SS Magpie has grown into a place where ocean-loving women can find their own small reminders of joy through pieces that bring them back to sunshine-filled days, salty air, and moments when your heart feels lighter.

Life can feel heavy sometimes. But when we surround ourselves with symbols of what we love- shared laughter, warm sunshine filled days, jewelry inspired by the sea- our troubles begin to wash out with the tide.  Our smile comes naturally and the dream life doesn’t feel so far away.

SS Magpie is here to help you hold onto the moments that matter most.
